Kango Listens to Grassroots, Strengthens PDP Bonds in Dan’kade

By Hafsat Garba

In a meeting defined more by listening than speeches, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Higher Education and Regional Integration, Hon. Hajiya Hadiza Abdulkadir Kango, sat with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders from Dan’kade Ward, Bauchi Local Government Area, to reconnect with the grassroots and reaffirm shared values of unity, loyalty and service.

The gathering brought together familiar party faces — the Dan’kade Ward Chairman, Malam Dan Bala Ustaz; the PDP Deputy Chairman in Bauchi LGA, Hon. Mamman Zodo; ward executives; the Dan’kade Councillor, Hon. Khalid Muhammad; and other stakeholders — creating an atmosphere of openness and mutual respect.

Speaking with humility, Hon. Kango praised the ward leaders for their discipline, patience and quiet sacrifices for the party. She acknowledged that beyond political titles, it is the commitment of grassroots leaders that keeps the party alive and connected to the people.

The Commissioner explained that her visit was not only to appreciate them, but also to seek their counsel, describing them as elders and partners whose advice remains crucial in navigating governance and party affairs. She stressed that leadership is most effective when it listens.

Calling for sustained unity, Hon. Kango urged party members to continue standing together, noting that development and peace can only flourish where there is cooperation and trust. She appealed for collective responsibility in strengthening the PDP and delivering dividends of democracy to the people.

She also reaffirmed her full support for Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, urging party members to remain steadfast in backing his administration. Addressing recent allegations against the Governor, Hon. Kango firmly described him as a peace-loving leader, distancing him from claims linking him to terrorism.

In his response, Hon. Mamman Zodo commended the Commissioner’s approach, advising her to continue leading with openness and inclusiveness. He noted that such personal engagement with ward leaders inspires confidence and deepens unity within the party.

Similarly, Malam Dan Bala Ustaz offered prayers for Hon. Kango, asking God to grant her wisdom, strength and guidance in carrying out her duties. He expressed hope that her tenure would bring positive impact to both the party and the people.

Observers described the meeting as a reminder that politics, at its core, remains about people — listening to them, standing with them, and building trust from the grassroots upward.
