The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation has held a stakeholder engagement forum in Bauchi to gather community input on the future direction of Wunti International Academy, ahead of its planned opening in September 2026.
The four-hour forum brought together more than 100 participants, including parents, religious and traditional leaders, government officials, academics, educators and community representatives.
The founder of the Foundation, Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti, joined the engagement via video conference, where he reaffirmed the vision of establishing an institution that combines a British-curriculum-structured learning environment with strong Islamic values.
Among those who contributed to the discussions were Professor Musa Adamu Wunti of Sa’adu Zungur University and Professor Ahmed Jibrin Nayaya of the Faculty of Science, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU.
Participants discussed affordable school fees, waqf-based support for underserved families, religious and cultural alignment, extracurricular activities and ways the school can contribute to the wider community.
The forum also witnessed the formal introduction of the Academy’s Head of School and the nomination of community representatives to the school’s governing board.
The Foundation says the recommendations from the engagement will be consolidated into a stakeholder report, while a Parent-Community Advisory Committee will be established to sustain community participation. Wunti International Academy is expected to commence admissions in September 2026, offering education from Preschool to Year Six.
