
The Ningi Local Government Council has distributed solar-powered streetlight poles to eight electoral wards in the Burra Emirate.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Chairman of the Council, Honourable Nasiru Zakarai Dankasuwa, said the initiative was part of efforts to deliver dividends of democracy and improve the well-being of the electorate at the grassroots level.


According to a statement issued by the Information Officer of Ningi Local Government, Kamilu Barau, the chairman also urged residents to continue supporting the present state administration in its commitment to providing more democratic dividends.
Honourable Dankasuwa commended the Bauchi State Government for its notable achievements in the areas of education, healthcare, security, and the provision of social amenities, among others. He further called on the general public to pray for the state governor, seeking Almighty Allah’s guidance and protection for sustained development.
In his remarks on behalf of the ward councillors, Honourable Garba Sale, Councillor representing Burra Ward, expressed appreciation to the chairman for his leadership and efforts in justifying the confidence reposed in him. He appealed to the people of Burra Emirate to continue to support and cooperate with the present local government administration to enable it attract more dividends of democracy.


It would be recalled that the chairman had earlier installed solar-powered streetlight poles in some streets within Ningi town, as well as at the Gadar Maiwa Modern Market in the Ari Emirate of the local government area.
