The Bauchi State Infrastructure Development and Maintenance Agency (BASIDMA), under the leadership of its Director-General, Engr. Abdulrahman Mai Auduga, has launched a special road rehabilitation project in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area.
The project, introduced under the Zero–Pothole Initiative, is one of the key programmes of the Bauchi State Government aimed at eliminating potholes and addressing road-related challenges to improve traffic flow and ensure safer roads for residents.
During the launch ceremony, the agency stated that the rehabilitation work will focus on the most affected roads, particularly those with structural challenges in the TT system, to guarantee quality repairs that will ease road usage for the public.
The Director-General, Engr. Mai Auduga, explained that the initiative aligns with the state government’s efforts to reduce road accidents, enhance transportation, and ensure citizens benefit from ongoing infrastructural improvements across different parts of the state.
He further assured that BASIDMA will continue to monitor damaged roads across major cities and local government areas for timely intervention and to maintain high standards.
According to him, the project will significantly improve the quality of life for residents in Azare and across Bauchi State.
