The coronation of newly appointed district heads across Toro Local Government Area has been described as a deliberate effort by the Bauchi State Government to strengthen peace, unity and stability at the grassroots.
The exercise, which took place in Toro, Lame and Jama’a Emirate Councils, brought together traditional rulers, government officials and community members, highlighting the shared responsibility of maintaining harmony across the area.
Leading the state government delegation, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Isha Babayo Tilde, charged the district heads to serve as promoters of peace, fairness and unity in their respective districts.
He stressed that traditional leaders play a critical role in conflict prevention and resolution, urging them to work closely with their emirs and security agencies to sustain stability within their communities.
The Emirate Councils of Toro, Lame and Jama’a reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful coexistence, describing unity among the people as the foundation for lasting development.
The emirs also appreciated the Bauchi State Government for strengthening traditional institutions, noting that a strong and coordinated traditional system enhances social cohesion and order.
The appointments are expected to reinforce community-level peacebuilding, strengthen traditional governance structures and ensure sustained stability across Toro Local Government Area.
