The Nigerian Police Force Bauchi State Command has succeeded in the arrest of four suspected armed robbers and recovered several stolen items in connection with a recent robbery incident in the state capital.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Chief Supretendent Of Police Ahmed Wakil, said the suspects were apprehended following a report made by one Everest Jonathan of Behind V.I.O Office along Jos Road, Bauchi, who was attacked by a gang of five robbers in the early hours of November 11, 2025.
Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of B Division, CSP Holman Simon, led a team of detectives to the scene of the incident. Preliminary investigation revealed that one of the suspects, identified as 20-year-old Alhassan Jibrin, also known as Babani Biri, abandoned his Android phone at the crime scene.
Further investigation led to the arrest of three other suspects — 20-year-old Lawan Idris of Behind Old Airport, Bauchi; 22-year-old Muhammad Yau, also known as Madugu of Behind Emir’s Palace, Bauchi; and Lawan Adamu of Wayan Makafi area of the state capital.
The suspects have confessed to criminal conspiracy and series of armed robbery attacks around the V.I.O Office area along Jos Road, Bauchi.
Items recovered from them include a travelling bag, two sets of clothes, two pairs of sneakers, two sharp cutlasses, an Android phone, a keypad phone, and two torchlights, among others.
The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
He also assured residents that the command is intensifying efforts to track down other members of the gang still at large.
