The Bauchi State Executive Council has approved the relocation of Wunti traders to Wunti Market and Kasuwan Gwari traders from Muda Lawal Market to the Ibrahim Bako area to enhance orderliness, reduce congestion, and improve business operations within the Bauchi metropolis.
The approval was made during the council meeting presided over by Governor Bala Mohammed.
The Commissioner of Cooperatives and SMEs Development, Hon. Mohammed Sadeeq Hamisu Shira, said the council also ratified the construction of a modern trailer park in Azare, to be executed under a private-sector partnership aimed at improving commerce, transportation, and urban development in the state.
Similarly, the council approved the renovation and upgrade of the Professor Iya Abubakar Resource Centre, which will be equipped with modern internet facilities to promote digital learning, training, and research across Bauchi State.
The Commissioner of Lands and Survey, Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi Gwaram, disclosed that the council approved 20 and 50 metres right of way on state and federal roads respectively, to prevent encroachment, illegal structures, and farming activities along major roads.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Housing and Environment, Rt. Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule, announced the approval for the supply and installation of furniture, satellite, and internet facilities at the governor’s official residence as part of the ongoing Government House reconstruction and modernization project.
