President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has relieved General Christopher Musa of his duties as Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff.
In a major shake-up within the nation’s military hierarchy, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of General Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Defence Staff.
Although the Presidency has yet to give detailed reasons for the decision, the development is seen as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security leadership and enhance coordination across the Armed Forces.
General Olufemi Oluyede is expected to assume command immediately, taking over from General Musa who has led the Defence Headquarters since his appointment in 2023.
More details and official reactions from the Presidency, the Ministry of Defence, and the Nigerian Armed Forces are expected in subsequent bulletins.
